Twitter is a social networking and a microblogging service that allows you to communicate with friends and followers through text messages. It is used to avoid the hassle of e-mails and IM messages. Twitter is used to answer the question “What are you doing?”
Most people write what they are doing to get a faster response from there friends or those they are trying to communicate with. Not only is it for your friends but also for those people you wouldn’t normally communicate with. It’s a way to get in touch with the community or like-minded people around you.
Twitter is used for both personal and business purposes. In a business sense twitter can be used to broadcast the latest news or information of what the company is up to. It can also be used to promote the latest product and depending on who is following them it might catch an interest and benefit the company.
When twitter is used for more personal use, people tend to use it to get the latest trend or to receive the latest updates. No matter what twitter is used for its main purpose is to facilitate people’s communication.
It was made so that people could get their point across faster and communicating with someone much quicker. Some people use Twitter mainly just to keep up with what there friends are doing.
Most people believe that twitter is a social networking site. Twitter is commonly compared to MySpace and Facebook as well as LiveJournal.
MySpace is almost the same in the way that it is used to communicate with friends and family as well as other businesses. Unlike twitter MySpace is used to express ones personality using web design as well as expressing ones personal interests and letting other people such as friends view it.
It is very common for people to set up a site using social networking to promote something they have created or to invite people anywhere they might be sponsoring at or creating. It is in there best interest, business wise, to make sure that they inform people of what they are promoting in order to help that business grow.
