Is the product consumable on a constant basis (food items, nutritive supplements, cosmetics, skin care, candles, motor oil, dish soap, hair coloring)?  Or is the product anything which you buy once and it lasts forever.  You could want to make sure you’ll be representing a product that folk will need repeatedly again. 

Is the service or product emotional?  Does it cause you to feel excited, healthy, attractive, sentimental or gorgeous or stir up any other feelings in any way?  If so, it’s passed the test.  If not, you may need to move on in your search, depending on the solutions to the rest of the questions. 

Is the product one of a kind?  Is it going to stand out in any way?  If this is so what is the unique angle?  A good multi level promotional product must be unique…  But you would like to make sure that it is ‘believably unique’ also.  If something seems funny, check it out further.  Some things that can contribute to a product’s uniqueness element are a patented formula, a completely unique ingredient, a completely unique patent or trademark, the first-to-market status, celebrity endorsement and unique branding or packing, just to cite a couple. 

Is the product conventional for the direct sales marketplace?  Thus, are folk used to buying this type of product from distributors directly and not in retail establishments?  If not, it would produce some difficulties for you in your business.  If people aren’t used to buying things thru direct sales, you might have a hard time trying to get them to switch their minds. 

How precious is the product?  It has to be perceived as being at to the lowest degree valued its price and maybe more.  Would it sell in a retail store at the identical cost? 

How prompt is the product?  Is the demand for the product big right now?  Do not be duped if they tell you that this product is going to be very well-liked once it gets going.  You cannot speculate about how great a product will be.  You could make money on what is doing well at this time.  Timing is all.
