Throughout the year, the natural attractions of Cape Point Nature Reserve, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and Chapman’s Peak offer spectacular walking, hiking and photographic opportunities. Find out the fynbos at Cape Point, the indigenous plants and flowers at Kirstenbosch, and the marvelous sceneries of the ocean from Chapman’s Peak.
Whichever time of year you come to the Cape, you simply have to visit Table Mountain. The cable car operates year round, weather-permitting, and transports ( Horse Recruitment ) you to the top of the mountain in 10-15 minutes. An appeal of the favorite children as adults, as the whole family through the experience, excellent views of the city offers the charm, and of course the novelty of traveling in one of three cars in the world.
Another great family activity, especially during the spring and autumn months, is to venture to Spier wine estate in Stellenbosch. At this beautiful estate, there’s something for the whole family: Wine tastings for the adults, horse-riding ( Horse Recruitment ) and pony-and-cart rides for kids, and lakeside picnics for the whole family. There’s also the famous Cheetah Outreach project,where childrens can touch the cheetahs, and the Eagle Encounters raptor rehabilitation centre, where birds of prey are rehabilitated and released back into the wild. Flying shows happen every day.
The V&A Waterfront is a fantastic family destination in the Mother City. Apart from the world-class shopping ( Horse Employment ) and dining for which it is renowned, the V&A also offers plenty of family activities too. Boat rides, vocations to Seal Island, and the marvelous Two Oceans Aquarium attract childrens of wid ages. You can also use the ferry to Robben, Iceland, the site of the famous 27-year prison Nelson Mandela. The Waterfront, as it’s known among locals, is also the ideal place for traditional fish-and-chips beside the harbour, and ice-creams in the sun. Several extravagant hotels in Cape Town provide free transfers to the Waterfront.
